Aztec Electric Racing Unveils AER-26
San Diego, CA · SDSU Engineering Quad · April 17, 2026
On April 17th, Aztec Electric Racing unveiled AER-26 — our car for the Formula SAE EV 2025–2026 season. After countless hours of work, meetings, and late nights, our team showcased the newest iteration of our car, built with performance, efficiency, and innovation.
AER-26 — Car #33 — features a revised 4130 chromoly spaceframe, a 349 V battery system, a liquid-cooled EMRAX 208 motor delivering 86 kW of peak power, and a Drexler V3 LSD through a 4.7:1 chain drive.
We want to thank all of our sponsors who supported us throughout this season, as well as our faculty advisors —
Scott Shaffar,
Timothy J. Rice, EdD, and
Joe Katz.
This couldn’t have been possible without your support.
